Last July we did our year end campout out at Cross Lake Provincial Park. We borrowed canoes from our regional group and canoed out to Georges Point to camp for two nights. We had 5 families consisting of 7 adults and 10 children able to go. We all met at the campground boat launch in the afternoon, loaded up our canoes and headed across the lake. The weather was fair and it didnt take too long to get across the lake. No one tipped, but Andrew and Gwyn were having trouble keeping on course. Gwyn hadn't canoed before, but Andrew has and we figured he would be ok to steer and get them across. When they started going way off course, Russ had to catch up to them and give them a crash course on how to steer. Georges Point is classed as a walk in campsite area as there is a trail from the main campground. Canoeing is a more enjoyable and an easier, quicker way to get all your gear to camp.
